When our 17 year old basement water heater died, we knew immediately who to call for a new one. We called Water Heaters Only in San Jose and requested, Kevin West (the technician who had installed it back in 2008) to install the new one as his work was A+. In fact, the city inspector said he had never seen such good work. So it was a "no-brainer" to request Kevin. He and Chrys arrived in a timely manner and did not disappoint. They immediately got to work draining the old water heater. They then lugged the old 170 lb. water heater up the old, challenging, winding 13-step staircase...and then down the steps with the new one! They really care about the job they do and their work is impeccable. When Kevin first arrived he went over exactly what he was going to do. He and Chrys are professionals and worked well as a team. Their knowledge and service made a very stressful time stress-free! The last thing they did was to slap on the water heater a "Certificate Of Installation" which listed their Service Number, Job Number 214281, Date of Install, Model & Serial Number...all the info we would need if we required additional service. They are so much appreciated! Thanks for such great work!

Our installer Alex Buenrostro was very efficient in removing the old water heater, and installing the new unit. The whole job was completed in less than 2 hours. He did a great job! This review is for Chrys. He was exceptional. Our standard tank WH went out, and we were considering going to a tankless WH. Water Heaters Only quote was in-line with what others were quoting, but we went with Chrys and Water Heaters Only. From the quote to the work, Chrys went above and beyond to explain the system and how it works. His work was top notch.

The installation went very well and the installer was very professional and did good work. However, there are two issues I had with the service. My original water heater had a 6 year warranty and the warranty runs out in March. So, the original water heater tank was replaced with new one at no charge and parts and labor were charged for the replacement. However, there was a $400 service fee on top of the cost of parts and labor. I contacted Water Heaters Only to find out why there was a service fee with no good explanation. The company did give me a $75 reduction on the fee but I don’t think this type of fee should be charged and certainly not at that rate. In addition, there is no warranty issued on the new water tank. They will only give me the remaining two months left on the warranty on the previous tank they replaced for the new tank. Makes no sense. For these reasons I will not business with this company in the future. Unfortunate, since I have purchased several water heaters with them over the years.

Excellent service. I called on Saturday, and Kevin was at my house the next day. He replaced the thermopile in my water heater. The price for labor and parts was affordable compared to similar local businesses. One place I called asked me to look for the thermopile part and wanted to charge me twice what Water Heaters Only, Inc. charged! Kevin had the part with him on his truck and replaced it in less than thirty minutes. Prompt, reliable, and professional service. I highly recommend Water Heaters, Inc.

I give 5 stars to company and to technician Loni.
Company responded on my late-night call, set an appointment for the next day, informed me upfront about the price range and answered my technical questions.
Loni is a kind, friendly person with sound technical expertise in water heaters. He gave me a call 20 mins before coming, came on time, explained what needs to be done in details and final price. After I agreed, he started working. He is very well organized and focused on the job. After he finished water heater installation, he did a demo on how to run a system and use a new features. If you given a chance to pick a technician – go Loni.

Water Heaters Only is an amazing company! They quickly responded to my call and sent out Technician Loni to replace my water heater. He arrived inside the scheduled window and completed replacing my water heater within 2.5 hours. He was very courteous and professional. The only reason this didn’t get a 5-star review is because it seemed a little pricy and the main reason I was told it was so expensive was because my water heater is up 1 flight of stairs.
Otherwise, great service, I called on a Thursday evening and they got me an appointment first thing the following morning. Alex, the tech, was lovely and did a very nice job!

Water Heaters Only has served us in the past very well and today was no exception. I woke up to a wet garage as my large water heater was leaking. I called the service number on the water heater and I was told that a service technician would be there between 10 and 2. Around 11:20 I got a call from Loni and he was there in 10 min. In 2 hours he took care of the full replacement of our 75 gallon water heater that is a special unit as it also provides water to an Apollo Hydroheat unit.
Loni was very professional and shared a lot of good information. Highly recommended.

It's not a fun thing to unexpectedly have to replace a water heater, but Water Heaters Only made the experience simple and seamless. I called when I noticed our water heater was leaking and they were courteous and friendly on the phone and got me scheduled that day. Really great experience with Water Heaters Only and Dan C. last week! We found our water heater leaking at 1pm, and they got a technician out to the house by 3pm. Joseph and team were excellent! Responded right away and could have come out the same day if we had replied sooner, but instead came out first thing in morning the next day. They were professional, got down to work right away and did a five star professional installation… at a very reasonable price. It would take long enough to brush your teeth or shave with electric shaver to get hot water in the shower with the old tankless water heater. Now? About 12 seconds… without recirculating pump! Follow up, had some chirping noise coming out of our heater a few weeks after the install, they sent Chris out to do a minor/repair and our heater is as good as new.

Positives: They sent a highly professional technician out the next day to assess the scope of the water heater replacement.
Negatives: The call center experience was underwhelming. The written and signed quote was more than double ($7,250 vs. actual at $3,500) what I ended up paying by using a highly experienced, local plumber. (50 gallon tank, took 2 plumbers ~4 hours to install). Certainly felt to me like price gouging based upon both it being an urgent need and the zip code. Not a good feeling.

Loni came out on a friday to take a look at our ailing water heater, he diagnosed the problem and presented us with options to 1. repair, 2. replace the water heater or 3. have a tankless system installed. Since our water heater was nearing it's end of life, we chose to have a tankless system installed.
Loni and Kevin came today (Tuesday) at 10:30, our agreed upon time, removed the old water heater AND the 3 other older water heaters that we had been told (by other plumbers) could not be removed from our basement. Then they installed our new tankless heater in the place of the old heater, tested it and got it turned on by 5:30pm.
We could not be happier with the high level of customer service, professionalism and easy going competence displayed by Loni and Kevin. Both of these men are professionals and it shows! Water Heaters Only has our business for life!

Very knowledgeable water heater technician! Explained everything that was to be replaced including a new water heater. Disconnected and replaced all gas lines and water valves pertaining to installation requirements. Added non-flammable flashing tape around the exhaust area.
No gas leaks and no water leaks.

He explained about all the choices and was very knowledgeable. We decided on a course of action and he had my old water heater out and the new one installed within 2 hours. He explained about the warranty and exactly how to maintain my new heater. He was courteous and left the area very clean. Loni deserve more than 5 stars!!

I was so happy to find this company after our 13 year old water heater stopped working on Friday evening. They set me up with an appointment for Monday morning but said they'd try to come by Sunday. Fortunately they had time Sunday midday to come by and install a new water heater for us. They were quick (2 hours) and had the water heater we needed on hand. They were friendly and professional plus half the price of the plumber we had talked to before them. Wonderful to have hot water again and will call these guys first the next time I have an issue!

John A. of their San Jose office did a very professional job explaining what the probable causes were for my leaking water heater. John explained the repair options and quickly and professionally replaced the water heater. He also brought the water heater mounts and plumbing up to code here in San Jose.

I had used Water Heaters Only 11 or 12 years ago so I knew they were good but last week, when my water heater sprang a leak, I called them and they responded immediately. Mo Tau, the water heater installation tech, came out the next day. He was extremely personable, highly professional, completely knowledgeable, and made sure everything was done correctly. He double checked everything as he finished and left me with a smile on my face. You will be lucky if you get Mo when it is your time. I highly recommend him and Water Heaters Only.

We scheduled the site visit to assess the appropriate product to install and provide an estimate. Loni performed both the site visit and installation. Our heater speed producing hot water just before the weekend after almost 10 years of continual service. I placed a service call with my home warranty service (AHS) but their tech couldn't come until Tuesday (Memorial Day weekend). WHO had installed it, so I called them. The same tech who had done the original install, Kevin, came out on a SUNDAY, after calling to confirm the problem and get the model of the heater and controller so he could bring the right parts. He carefully diagnosed it as a faulty thermopile. He replaced that, but the controller wouldn't turn on. He explained that the controllers for my brand often fail after this sort of thing. He replaced the controller and the heater fired right up. He had to charge for the parts, but only charged $50 for the labor as it was a unit they had installed.
I really appreciate Kevin's awesome attitude, and his careful methodology to diagnose and solve the problem at the lowest possible cost, when a lot of companies would have just said "your 10 year old water heater is dead, gotta replace it".
I highly recommend Water Heaters Only as the place to get a quality water heater installed carefully and with great support!

I had Alex come out and replace old water heater with upmost professionalism! We had old Solar pipes that needed to be taken out and he cleaned it all up so it looks great!. Sean was the person that answered the phone and he was very professional with my questions and set up the repair super fast. Called Monday Morning around 8am and they were out by11am!
I would highly recommend them to anyone!!

Alex B. did an excellent job removing our old water heater and installing a new 40 gallon water heater. My husband installed our last one and he was impressed by the job Alex did. He was very nice and professional. The total cost for removal and installation was $2,285.00 for a B White brand water heater on 4/12/22. I'm not sure the going rate these days. He did a beautiful job so we are happy with our experience. They even came out the same day so we did not have to take cold showers!! This came with a 6 year tank warranty and 1 year labor.

What an experience! Water Heaters Only responded, evaluated, and installed in la little over 24 hrs from my initial e-mail! Colby in the office was great with the initial contact and decision whether to get a tankless or traditional heater. (We went with traditional) Then our amazing technician, Kevin, came out and did an amazing job removing the old heater and installing the new one. Chris showed up on time with a van load of water heaters, and knew exactly what to do. He added a surge tank, leak pan, and third seismic restraint. He added extra shut-off valves to make future repairs easier. Chris is a true craftsman, and explained what he was doing every step of the way. He figured out how to route the drain line from the pan under the door so no holes were needed in the wall. All copper pipe joints were soldered neatly, and wiped clean of flux. The work area was left clean.

I would recommend Water Heaters Only and Chris Devore without reservation. AND the cost was over $1000 less than the next closest bid price!

Well, it's bound to happen - at some point, your water heater will develop a leak. Luckily for us, it was a small one. I called Water Heaters Only, and was able to set up an appointment for the next day. Our technician Steve B. called to let us know that he'd be arriving soon. Steve was very personable, professional, and had our new 50 gallon water heater installed in well under 2 hours. He clearly takes pride in his work! The earthquake straps, supply lines, overflow pipe, and all the other details were VERY professionally done. I highly recommend Water Heaters Only.

I was in a difficult situation of not having hot water due to a water heater that failed. I contacted Water Heaters Only and was able to schedule an installation the next day.
