“Our heater speed producing hot water just before the weekend after almost 10 years of continual service. I placed a service call with my home warranty service (AHS) but their tech couldn’t come until Tuesday (Memorial Day weekend). WHO had installed it, so I called them. The same tech who had done the original install, Kevin, came out on a SUNDAY, after calling to confirm the problem and get the model of the heater and controller so he could bring the right parts. He carefully diagnosed it as a faulty thermopile. He replaced that, but the controller wouldn’t turn on. He explained that the controllers for my brand often fail after this sort of thing. He replaced the controller and the heater fired right up. He had to charge for the parts, but only charged $50 for the labor as it was a unit they had installed.
I really appreciate Kevin’s awesome attitude, and his careful methodology to diagnose and solve the problem at the lowest possible cost, when a lot of companies would have just said “your 10 year old water heater is dead, gotta replace it”.
I highly recommend Water Heaters Only as the place to get a quality water heater installed carefully and with great support!”

“Chris showed up on time with a van load of water heaters, and knew exactly what to do. He added a surge tank, leak pan, and third seismic restraint. He added extra shut-off valves to make future repairs easier. Chris is a true craftsman, and explained what he was doing every step of the way. He figured out how to route the drain line from the pan under the door so no holes were needed in the wall. All copper pipe joints were soldered neatly, and wiped clean of flux. The work area was left clean I would recommend Water Heaters Only and Chris D without reservation. AND the cost was over $1000 less than the next closest bid price!”

Long version of experience: About two weeks ago I woke up Sunday morning to find our water heater of 15yrs is leaking a bunch of water and not giving hot water. “This is the third time I have used Water Heaters Only to replace my water heater over the past 17 years. I called in the morning and Alex B., who replaced my water heater 7 years ago, arrived by 12:30PM. Alex is knowledgeable and friendly. He quickly assessed the situation and called for assistance since the heater is in the attic. Within an hour help arrived and the job was done by about 3PM. The only issue I have is that there is some damage to the edge of the sheetrock at the attic opening through which the old heater had to be lowered and the new heater raised. Use of a tarp to cover the edge could have prevented the damage. Next time I’ll certainly recommend that.”

“My 7 year old AO Smith water heater broke down and left me cold. Desperate, I called a few places. I found WHO, Inc on Google and decided to try them as they do only one thing – water heaters! They advised that I go for a Bradford White for better durability and customer service. I decided to go for it. Once I chose the options – he got to work and yanked a new one out of his truck installed it right away – took a total of about 4 hours to drain the old one, haul it out of the basement, take down the new one and install it. “We made the decision to replace out 11 yr old water heater on a Sunday. By the end of that day we had an installation appointment for Wednesday between 8:00 and 11:00am. Alex arrived at 8:00 and was finished by 10:20am. The installation was professional and clean. Alex went beyond expectations by having to climb into the attic to correct a bad installation of the vent pipe by the previous owner. Alex covered and protected my floors and was very careful of the laundry area. All COVID requirements were safely met. The water heater was installed, pipes wrapped, the area cleaned. Alex provided me a brief instruction on lighting the pilot and setting the water temp. Alex provided all necessary paperwork. We had hot water by 11:00am! Since it wasn’t an emergency, we were able to obtain a couple of estimates for replacement of the gas water heater prior to WHO. John was friendly, professional and courteous. He arrived on time and was very knowledgeable regarding city codes and about the product he was selling. He explained in detail what he was going to do based on a standard installation in the garage (one in which had prior code modifications completed) and then what he needed to do to bring our new water heater up to code. He answered all of questions respectfully and provided us with the estimate which was between $200-$800 cheaper than the other two estimates we had received. (All three also included fees for the city permit. One company listed the permit price, the other just listed it as an inclusion.) We accepted the estimate and John went to work. Beautiful work John! Alex’s works was superb. Not only did he install the new water heater, but he replaced all the vents and pipes and put in a pan and drainage pipe so that any future leak would go onto concrete instead of wood. “No one plans ahead for your water heater to fail. When yours springs a leak you need it fixed fast. I called Tuesday morning, and they came out the next day. My technician was very knowledgeable about building codes and recommended that I actually downsize from a 75 to 50 gallon, saving me about $1000. We are original owners of this home built in 1984. After the initial contractor supplied water heater went out I looked to the Yellow Pages (anyone under the age of 30 can disregard the term “Yellow Pages”) and found Water Heaters Only. A tech came out within 24 hours and had me up and running in 90 minutes. Today I had my latest replacement visit from W.H.O. and had another outstanding installation experience, this time with Alex B. The old W.H.O. unit lasted 12.5 years which is outstanding considering the hard mineral deposits we deal with here in Silicon Valley. “Got a leak in the connector hose installed by Just Water Heaters 8 yrs ago, luckily not the heater itself. Called the number, connected to Water Heaters Only and heard the standard message how they provide the service to the old JWH customers, but don’t honor the warranty, which I found very convenient to the companies, however this scheme was put in place. Nevertheless, appointment was scheduled for the next morning with 2 hr window, technician John A. called 30 min prior to arrival, showed up on time, wrote up the quote and finished the work very professionally, stayed within the quote although several minor extra things turned up. Cleaned up everything after finishing, removed leaked water from the heater, warned about potential bubbles after water is turned on again… efficient and courteous throughout. One of the better contract experiences, recommended!

“We had a 5 Star experience with Water Heaters Only this weekend. When our water heater cracked on Saturday morning we immediately called our regular plumber. He couldn’t make it out until Tuesday, but told us we would probably be better off contacting Water Heaters Only anyway. Our plumber said they would be able to get us taken care of over the weekend, be less expensive than other companies, and most likely do a nicer installation as that is all they do. Yes, to all three. They couldn’t get to us Saturday because they didn’t have a 75 gallon tank on their truck, but they did get to us early Sunday morning. Their price was $200 less than we had been quoted last year when we looked into replacing the water heater. Our installer Steve was pleasant, informative, and did an excellent job. Finally, the man who helped us on the phone was very professional and give us a nearly exact estimate. “
